Two foreign cyclists, aged 55 and 57, were injured when a private car crossed into the opposing lane and struck their bicycles near Marina Cove on Tai Mong Tsai Road, Sai Kung, on the morning of September 6, 2026. Both were taken to hospital.
The car had been travelling towards Pak Tam Chung. Reports said it lost control before crossing the road, but differed on the precise sequence of events and the road markings involved.
Star Headline reported that the 55-year-old cyclist suffered a back injury and was taken by ambulance to Prince of Wales Hospital, while the 57-year-old cyclist sustained a hand injury and was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital. Both were conscious when they were taken to hospital, according to the report.
The 57-year-old male driver did not require hospital treatment. He assisted police with their investigation, according to the reports.
The collision was reported to have happened between about 9am and 9.32am, with the two reports giving different times.
The case was classified as a traffic accident involving injuries and was being followed by the Traffic Kowloon East Regional Headquarters Accident Investigation Team 5. The cause of the car losing control and the cyclists’ later conditions were not provided.
