The Labour Department announced sanctions on 12 October against Shengshi Investment Management Co., Limited and Ho Fu Kee Noodles (Tsuen Wan) Limited over applications to import dishwasher workers under a labour-importation scheme. Processing of applications already submitted by the companies was suspended immediately.
The department said both companies had rejected qualified jobseekers without reasonable grounds during recruitment. Shengshi was also found to have added conditions for the positions without the department’s consent and submitted false results for local public recruitment.
For two years from 12 October, the department will refuse to process applications either company submits under the scheme.
