Three residents from two public-housing households failed to declare Hong Kong property in their 2025 income and asset declarations, according to the Housing Department. Its investigation found that two residents in one case owned three Sai Kung properties between them, with one resident owning two. A resident in the other case owned a property in Tseung Kwan O.
At Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts on 5 October, the resident with two properties was sentenced to two weeks’ imprisonment, to be served immediately. The other resident in that case is due back in court on 30 November. The Housing Department said it would recover the public-housing unit involved.
In the separate case, the resident with the Tseung Kwan O property was sentenced to four weeks’ imprisonment and granted bail pending an appeal.
