A woman estimated to be about 30 died after being found floating in the sea off Salisbury Road near K11 in Tsim Sha Tsui on October 3. She was rescued unconscious and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead at 7:31am, HK01 reported.
Police received the report at about 6:59am. Police officers, firefighters and a rescue vessel searched the water and brought the woman ashore. Paramedics gave her emergency treatment at the scene before an ambulance took her to hospital.
A passer-by reportedly saw her lying face down in the water and threw a lifebuoy, but she did not respond. Other passers-by then called police, HK01 reported.
Police were investigating the woman’s identity and the circumstances in which she entered the water. Officers found a handbag at nearby Pier No. 4 containing a Duffy charm, medication, tissues, a charger, two mobile phones and cards, and suspected it belonged to her. The case was provisionally classified as involving a person found in the water.
