A woman aged about 90 was injured when part of a concrete ceiling collapsed inside a subdivided residential unit at Rende Building, 93-113 Chun Yeung Street, North Point, at about 8am to 8.15am on September 3, 2026. The falling concrete struck her head and caused bleeding.

The woman was conscious when ambulance crews arrived and was taken to Eastern Hospital for treatment. Star Headline reported that she usually lived with her children but was alone in the unit at the time.

The collapsed section measured about 1 metre by 1.5 metres. Ming Pao described the property as a subdivided flat split into two units.

Police and firefighters attended after receiving a report. Ming Pao said an initial assessment found no immediate danger at the scene and that the relevant departments had been notified for follow-up.

The cause of the collapse, the woman’s subsequent condition and any further action involving the unit or building had not been confirmed. Follow-up by the relevant departments was pending.
