A 29-year-old woman was struck by a private car near No. 17 Po Lam North Road in Tseung Kwan O at about 8pm on September 1, before a following minibus collided with the car. The crash happened outside the Po Lam Ambulance Depot.
The woman was reportedly crossing the road when she was hit, fell to the ground and became unconscious. Emergency workers took her to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she later regained consciousness.
The scheduled minibus reportedly hit the rear of the private car because its driver could not stop in time, according to Ming Pao. The report said the 73-year-old minibus driver was not injured and that the vehicle was carrying no passengers.
The 30-year-old private-car driver was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital after reporting physical discomfort. Reports differed on whether he complained of a headache or chest pain, so the nature of his symptoms was not clear.
Ming Pao reported that the section of road had no pedestrian crossing facilities at the crash location. A footbridge and a pedestrian subway were said to be about 100 to 200 metres away; the reported road layout does not establish the cause of the collision.
