An approximately 60-year-old male worker was injured after falling from the tail lift of a lorry during furniture unloading outside Hong Kong Garden, 8 Seymour Road, in the Mid-Levels on August 22. He was conscious after the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment. Reports placed the accident at about 11am, with one specifying 11.38am.
The lorry was parked by the roadside for unloading. The worker lost his balance while pulling furniture from the vehicle and fell about 1.2 metres from the tail lift to the ground.
He suffered an injury to his left shoulder. The reports said the nylon rope securing the load appeared to have broken during the operation, but the specific cause of the fall had not been confirmed.
Police treated the case as an industrial accident. No details were provided about which hospital received the worker or his condition after admission.
