A 53-year-old construction worker surnamed Lei was injured after apparently falling from external wall scaffolding at a residential development at 70 Robinson Road in the Mid-Levels at about 2pm on August 31, 2026.
He was reportedly carrying out maintenance work on scaffolding about 7 to 8 metres above a platform when he apparently fell. The reports described the incident as an apparent accidental slip, but did not establish its cause.
Security staff reportedly found Lei conscious on the platform and called emergency services. He had injuries to his head and legs and was taken by ambulance to Queen Mary Hospital.
Police classified the case as an industrial accident involving injury and conducted follow-up inquiries. The reports did not provide an update on Lei’s medical condition or establish whether any safety or equipment issue contributed to the fall.
