The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department will begin auctioning stalls for Hong Kong’s 2027 Lunar New Year fairs on October 7, with a fast-food stall at the Causeway Bay site carrying a reserve price of HK$120,470.
The fairs will run for seven days from January 31 to February 6, 2027, at 14 locations, offering 1,564 stalls: 939 for wet goods, 599 for dry goods and 26 for fast food.
The Causeway Bay fair accounts for 400 stalls. Its auction will take place from October 7 to 9 in the second-floor hall of government offices in Lai Chi Kok. Fast-food and wet-goods stalls are scheduled for October 7, dry-goods stalls for October 8 and the remaining dry-goods stalls for October 9. Reserve prices are HK$120,470 for fast-food stalls, HK$6,530 for wet-goods stalls, HK$8,540 for standard dry-goods stalls and HK$12,810 for large dry-goods stalls.
The first two days are divided into morning and afternoon sessions, with the morning session running from 9am to 12.30pm and the afternoon session starting at 2pm. Bidding on October 9 runs continuously from 9am. Seating is limited, so prospective bidders should attend on the date assigned to their stall category.
The remaining auctions begin with the Tung Chung round on October 12. Fairs in Sham Shui Po, Cheung Sha Wan and Kwun Tong follow from October 13 to 15, and the To Kwa Wan auction is scheduled for October 16. The eight New Territories locations will be auctioned between October 20 and 29.
Across all locations, reserve prices range from HK$380 to HK$6,530 for wet-goods stalls, HK$450 to HK$8,540 for standard dry-goods stalls, HK$680 to HK$12,810 for large dry-goods stalls and HK$2,290 to HK$120,470 for fast-food stalls.
