An 84-year-old man was injured when concrete fell from the ceiling of a tenement flat at 56A Kinzhou Street, Sham Shui Po, at about 9pm on 5 September. He was in the toilet when the incident happened.
Police received a report from a woman who said the fallen concrete had struck her husband. Officers and ambulance personnel found the man conscious, with abrasions to his arm and back. The section of fallen concrete measured about 1 metre by 2 metres.
The man was taken by ambulance to Caritas Medical Centre for treatment. The reports did not establish what caused the concrete to fall, or whether the flat required evacuation or further inspection.
