The Customs and Excise Department and Hong Kong Fire Services Department found a suspected illegal petrol station in the Man Kam To area on the morning of 26 October 2026. Inside an enclosed metal-sheet yard, they found a cross-border private car unloading fuel.
They seized about 1,560 litres of suspected untaxed petrol. The driver tried to flee and was subdued and arrested.
The site was near homes. Customs said an accident there could endanger the public.
