About 20 people were injured when a minibus and a truck collided on Fanling Highway near Choi Yuen Estate on the morning of 28 September 2026. All lanes in the Kowloon-bound direction were temporarily closed after the crash.
The minibus driver was trapped inside the vehicle and was later freed by rescue personnel. The driver was conscious when rescued. The minibus’s front was badly damaged and its windscreen shattered when it struck a roadside divider.
At least 17 people were taken by ambulance to North District Hospital and Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital. One person was in a more serious condition and the others had light injuries.
The Transport Department advised drivers to consider alternative routes as congestion was reported near Choi Yuen Estate. Police were investigating the cause of the collision.
