A 44-year-old off-duty water police officer and his 46-year-old wife face 16 charges over allegations that they repeatedly assaulted their domestic helper, BULONG Rosmir Baay, over about two months.
The alleged assaults took place at a flat in Fung Shing Street Disciplined Services Quarters, Wong Tai Sin, according to the charge particulars reported by the two outlets. The defendants are 黎鶴齡, 44, described as a civil servant in one report, and 許珞珩, 46, who was reported to be a housewife.
The couple appeared at a magistrates’ court in Kwun Tong on 16 September, when the prosecution applied to amend the case after obtaining legal advice. The magistrate approved the amendment. The officer had originally faced two charges alleging assault occasioning bodily harm over attacks on the helper.
The reports differed over the amended charge particulars. Ming Pao reported that 黎 faced two ordinary-assault charges over alleged incidents on 6 and 9 March, while the couple jointly faced 14 more ordinary-assault charges covering 15 March to 25 May. Star Headline reported instead that the case comprised 15 ordinary-assault charges and one charge of assault occasioning bodily harm, with eight ordinary-assault charges against 黎 alone, four against 許 alone and three against both. It gave the alleged period as 6 March to 24 May.
Both defendants were granted bail, with Star Headline reporting the amount as HK$1,000 each. The case was adjourned to 18 November 2026 for the defence to obtain documents, and they remain on bail until the next hearing.
