A 58-year-old man and his 43-year-old wife were injured during an early-morning confrontation near the junction of Austin Avenue and Kimberley Road in Tsim Sha Tsui on September 26.
Police received a report at about 5.45am that roughly 20 people were involved in a violent dispute. Rescue personnel found the man with a bleeding forehead and the woman with facial injuries. Both received treatment at the scene but declined hospital transport and left.
Police said the couple reported that they had no personal grudge or money dispute with anyone. They said they were attacked by several people while passing through the area after drinking nearby.
Police temporarily listed the case as assault occasioning actual bodily harm and were seeking around 10 men, possibly more. A video received by HK01 reportedly shows a blond-haired man being surrounded, pushed and struck. Police were investigating the cause of the confrontation and the suspects’ whereabouts.
