Department to refuse two firms’ labour-scheme applications for a year

The Labour Department announced on 27 October that it had suspended processing of applications already submitted by PIONIER LAUNDRY LIMITED and Coucou (HK) Catering Management Co., Ltd. under the Enhanced Supplementary Labour Scheme. Applications the companies submit under the scheme during the following year will be refused.

The department cited alleged breaches including submitting inaccurate figures for full-time local employees and failing to maintain the required ratio of two full-time local employees for each imported worker.
