A male driver climbed out of his overturned private car before rescuers reached it after a morning crash near Princess Road in Hung Hom.
Star Headline reported that the crash happened at about 8.20am on 14 September, with the car travelling towards Kowloon Tong near the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. It hit roadside railings and overturned, coming to rest on its roof with all four wheels facing upwards.
Ming Pao put the time at about 8am and reported that police and firefighters were called after receiving a report that someone was trapped. The driver had already freed himself when rescuers arrived.
He sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
The two reports differ over the car’s approach and the precise collision point. Ming Pao said it had been travelling along Chatham Road South towards Kowloon Tong before entering a Princess Road slip road, where it was suspected of losing control, mounting a divider and hitting railings. Star Headline placed the crash near the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Police were investigating the cause of the crash.
