Eight students travelling in a minibus serving Tin Shui Wai Government Primary School were eventually taken by ambulance to Tin Shui Wai Hospital after it collided with a taxi on Tin Shui Road on Wednesday morning.
The children reported discomfort but had no visible injuries, and all eight were conscious. They were first taken back to school in another school vehicle; staff then reported the incident and called ambulances.
The taxi reportedly moved in front of the minibus and stopped suddenly, apparently to pick up a passenger. The minibus then struck the taxi’s rear. The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
Police classified the case as a traffic accident involving injuries.
