Police received a report near 1am on November 1 about a 14-year-old boy who may have been mistreated by his 35-year-old father.
Police said preliminary inquiries indicated the father may have struck his son. He was arrested on suspicion of an offence involving the mistreatment or neglect of a child or young person in his care and was detained for investigation. The boy had injuries to his eyes, hands and forehead and was taken conscious to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.
