A fire broke out at the JFFT studio in an industrial building on Chai Wan Kok Street, Tsuen Wan, on 28 September, forcing 20 people to evacuate. No injuries were reported.
Police received a report at 1:31pm that a unit in 84-92 Chai Wan Kok Street was on fire. Firefighters used one hose and one breathing-apparatus team to tackle the blaze, extinguishing it about 23 minutes later.
A preliminary assessment found that a suspected short circuit in an electrical wire may have started the fire. The incident was initially treated as not suspicious.
The affected unit was identified as the studio of JFFT, an online group with a YouTube channel. After the fire, JFFT posted an Instagram Story reassuring followers: “There is no need to worry; it has been dealt with.”
Images believed to show the studio sign showed soot-blackened walls and damage to one eye of the JFFT logo.
