Firefighters rescue cat trapped outside eighth-floor flat in Lai Chi Kok

The roughly six-year-old cat became stranded at an external drainage pipe after climbing out of a window at a residential block on Lai King Hill Road.

Firefighters rescued a cat that had become trapped on the external wall of an eighth-floor flat in Lai Chi Kok, bringing it back to a safe position after a morning operation.

Fire services received a report at about 6am on 19 September that the cat was stranded at the external drainage-pipe position of a residential block at 264 Lai King Hill Road. The animal, reported to be about six years old, had climbed out through a window of a unit on the eighth floor.

The rescue was completed at about 7am and was described as taking more than an hour. Ming Pao reported that the cat was handed back to its owner at the scene.
