A private car and a passenger taxi collided head-on near Pak Wai on Hiram's Highway at 1.19pm on 25 September, leaving traffic congested in both directions.
The Transport Department restricted the road to one lane for two-way traffic near the crash site.
The taxi driver was temporarily trapped in the vehicle but was conscious when rescued and reported chest pain. He was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment. The taxi passenger suffered an injury to the chin or jaw.
Reports differed over whether the passenger was taken to hospital: Star Headline said the passenger was treated at the scene and refused transport, while HK01 and Ming Pao said the passenger was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital. The private-car driver was reported to be uninjured.
