Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki and the Financial Secretary are scheduled to leave Hong Kong for Beijing on the afternoon of 20 September for separate official programmes, with temporary cover arranged for their posts during the trips.
Chan Kwok-ki is due to attend the “Salute to the National Flag” Hong Kong and Macao Youth Flag-Raising Teams’ Beijing Visit Delegation on 21 September.
The Financial Secretary’s three-day programme will include visits to the Ministry of Finance, relevant central ministries and financial regulatory institutions. The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, the chief executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the chief executive of the Securities and Futures Commission are expected to take part in all or part of the itinerary.
The Deputy Chief Secretary will act as Chief Secretary while Chan Kwok-ki is away. The Deputy Financial Secretary will act as Financial Secretary during the Financial Secretary’s absence, while the Deputy Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury will act as Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury during that secretary’s absence.
Chan Kwok-ki is scheduled to return to Hong Kong on 22 September. The Financial Secretary’s return is scheduled for that afternoon.
