The Customs and Excise Department said it inspected two river vessels travelling from Hong Kong to Macau on 9 and 13 October.

About 740,000 suspected pharmaceutical products were among the suspected smuggled goods seized, the department said. It estimated the total market value of the goods at about HK$33 million.

It said the investigation was ongoing and did not rule out arrests.
