Hong Kong is expected to turn cooler early to mid next week after a strong northeast monsoon reaches the Guangdong coast on Friday night, 6 November. The Hong Kong Observatory expects quite strong winds over the weekend, followed by a dry monsoon replenishment bringing generally fine weather and a significant temperature fall.

Warmth is expected to persist at first: the urban-area forecast is 26°C to 30°C on Thursday and a high of 28°C on Saturday.

For Wednesday, 11 November, the urban-area forecast is 20°C to 26°C, with generally fine, dry conditions. The Observatory’s district forecast puts Ta Kwu Ling at 17°C at 7am.

The 20°C forecast low could set a new autumn low at the Observatory’s Tsim Sha Tsui headquarters. Its lowest reading so far this autumn was 23.3°C on the morning of 6 October.
