A truck carrying about eight tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas overturned at the No. 3 roundabout on Tsing Yi Hong Wan Road while travelling towards Kowloon at about 1.30am on 21 September. The driver and accompanying worker were initially trapped inside, but later climbed out of the vehicle themselves.
The truck overturned to the left and its windscreen was shattered. Police and firefighters attended, with firefighters keeping a hose ready as a precaution.
The reports differ over the driver's condition. Star Headline said both men were conscious but had bleeding injuries to their hands and feet, with the accompanying worker taken to hospital by ambulance and the driver treated at the scene before declining hospital transport. i-CABLE News identified the driver as 63 and said he was uninjured and had passed a breathalyser test, while the 37-year-old accompanying worker had a graze to his left hand and was taken to hospital.
Star Headline initially said it was not known whether gas had leaked; i-CABLE News later reported that no liquefied petroleum gas escaped.
