A magistrate at Sha Tin Magistrates’ Court has found a prima facie case against a 39-year-old off-duty police officer accused of illegally filming or observing a woman’s intimate parts at Lai King Station. The defendant denies the single charge, and remains on bail as the proceedings move towards closing submissions.
The alleged incident took place on an escalator on 1 August 2025. The charge alleges that the defendant used a mobile phone to observe or photograph the woman’s intimate parts from beneath her clothing for a sexual or dishonest purpose, without regard to whether she consented.
The complainant told the court that she felt a hard object near her leg, turned and saw the defendant holding a phone below her dress. She said she challenged him and shouted for help when he tried to leave. A male passer-by helped stop him; the witness testified that the defendant denied filming her and tried to explain by opening his phone, but other people and station staff prevented him from doing so.
Forensic examination found no relevant images or other findings on the phone. The defendant chose not to testify. The case was adjourned for closing submissions, with the next hearing expected on 29 September 2026.
