Police said they suspected the man had injured a woman’s neck and hands with a sharp weapon earlier that morning, then gone up to the rooftop carrying a knife. She was found injured in a unit in the building and taken by ambulance to Tuen Mun Hospital while conscious.
At about 10.38am, the man was found on the rooftop of a building at 1–5 Kik Yeung Road in Yuen Long. Emergency personnel attended, and police brought in negotiation specialists to persuade him to return to safety.
He returned to a safe position later that morning and was arrested on suspicion of wounding.
