A 17-year-old girl reported that a man followed her on Tin Shui Road in Tin Shui Wai overnight between 24 and 25 October and asked her for the socks she was wearing. She handed them over, went home and later reported the incident to police with a family member.
Police said they arrested a 32-year-old local man in Tsuen Wan on 26 October on suspicion of loitering. CCTV footage and intelligence analysis helped identify him.
Police advised people travelling at night to stay alert and use well-lit routes where possible. If followed, they should move towards a populated, well-lit place or call 999 for help.
