A 39-year-old man described as a director has appeared at Fanling Magistrates' Court on four charges linked to the alleged operation of an unregistered small drone in the restricted-flying area around Wang Fuk Court.
Police designated a 500-metre zone around the Tai Po estate after a fire there in November 2025. Members of the public are not allowed to operate drones in the area without permission.
The prosecution alleges that the drone was operated in Tai Po on 18 April 2026, in breach of small-drone flight requirements and without permission to fly in the restricted area.
The defendant was granted HK$1,000 cash bail. The case was adjourned to 25 November 2026, when he is due to enter a plea at Fanling Magistrates' Court.
