A 51-year-old man has been charged with one count of murder after his 53-year-old wife was found dead at their residence in Heng Fa Chuen, Chai Wan. The case was listed for a morning hearing at a magistrates’ court in Eastern District on 18 September.
On 16 September, the man surrendered at a police station and was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police allege that the woman was killed inside the residence with a kitchen knife and sustained multiple knife wounds.
Police said the couple’s relationship had recently deteriorated over risky investments and debts exceeding HK$1 million. They said the motive remained under investigation.
