A 59-year-old man has pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting a female passenger on an East Rail Line train, with the case adjourned for psychiatric and psychological reports. Lu Wai-kwok, described as a clerk, entered his plea at Fanling Magistrates’ Court on September 10.
The incident was reported to have occurred on September 7 aboard train JM457, carriage 7-1, travelling towards Lo Wu after leaving the Tai Po Market station area. The passenger later got off at Tai Wo station and sought help from MTR staff and police because she was frightened.
According to the agreed facts reported by Ming Pao, the complainant, identified as X, had boarded at University station and was standing in a crowded section of the train at about 7.30pm.
Ming Pao reported that X felt a hard, warm object strike her uncovered right thigh three times, followed by warm, transparent liquid. She turned and saw Lu behind her, then wiped away the liquid, which she suspected was semen. The supplied reports do not independently confirm the nature of the liquid.
Lu was arrested the following day. Ming Pao reported that he initially remained silent under caution and later admitted being attracted to X, opening his zip, exposing his penis, touching her thigh and ejaculating prostatic fluid. Those details were reported as part of his account and are separate from the guilty plea recorded by the court.
Lu represented himself in mitigation and, according to Star Headline, cited pressure from handling bankruptcy and unemployment alone. He also expressed regret to his wife, children and the complainant.
The court adjourned the case to September 24 for psychiatric and psychological reports. Lu was remanded at Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre, and the sentence to be imposed at the next hearing remains unresolved.
