A car and motorcycle collided at a Po Lam roundabout around midday on 1 November, leaving the 55-year-old rider trapped beneath the car.

Car-camera footage showed the car strike the motorcycle from behind. The bike fell, but the car continued forward, pushing it and the rider several metres before he became trapped underneath. Rescuers freed him; he was conscious, with injuries to his face, chest and limbs, and was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Police said their preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcycle had stopped at the give-way position and the car behind could not brake in time. Reports on 2 November said the 66-year-old private-car driver had been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
