A leaking water pipe on Chap Wai Kon Street in Sha Tin prompted emergency repairs on the morning of November 6, 2026, closing the entire carriageway towards Shek Mun between Ngan Shing Street and Niu Pi Sha Street.
The Transport Department announced the closure and urged drivers to use other roads. The Water Supplies Department sent staff to carry out the repairs.
At least 21 bus routes towards Shek Mun were affected. The listed services were KMB routes 49X, 73A, 80K, 82C, 82X, 82K, 84M, 85A, 86, 89X, 89S, 90, 240X, 281A, 281E, 288D and N283; Long Win Bus routes A41 and NA41; and cross-harbour routes 182 and N182.
A pedestrian crossing over Niu Pi Sha Street was cordoned off to keep passers-by out of the repair area.
