Bookings for the High Island Geo Trail – Po Pin Chau Section are full on September 25 and 26, covering the Mid-Autumn holiday period. The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department said the section was also fully booked all day on October 1 and 2, the first two days of the National Day holiday.
A small number of places remained at some times on the other dates from October 1 to 7. Visitors unable to secure a booking were advised to use another, no-reservation section of the High Island Geo Trail.
The route takes about one and a half hours and offers views of the bay, sea caves and hexagonal volcanic rock columns.
People planning a National Day holiday hike were reminded to check availability early.
