A police anti-fraud webpage displayed FundHK at its highest risk level and urged the public to be careful, Star Headline reported.

The crowdfunding website used RTHK’s acronym in promotional material and claimed the broadcaster was a media and institutional partner. RTHK said it had no affiliation or other relationship with FundHK or its operating entity, and that any suggestion otherwise was unauthorised.

FundHK also listed The Hong Kong Council of Social Service and The Hong Kong Jockey Club as claimed partners, Star Headline reported. The site promoted fundraising appeals for tree planting and coral conservation using names very similar to those of local environmental groups.

RTHK advised anyone who suspects fraud or becomes aware of potentially unlawful activity to report it to police immediately and seek appropriate assistance.
