The owner of San Po Kong wedding decoration company PS Wedding has been ordered to perform 240 hours of community service and pay about HK$45,000 in compensation to affected customers after being convicted in a case involving alleged breaches of the Trade Descriptions Ordinance. The sentence was handed down on 10 September 2026.
PS Wedding reportedly closed suddenly in May 2025. Several customers had paid deposits but did not receive the promised wedding decoration services, and no refunds were arranged, according to the reports.
The owner continued accepting advance payments for wedding decoration services when the company was close to shutting down, but ultimately did not provide the services. Customs received multiple complaints and investigated the case.
The reports said the company was already facing financial difficulties before it closed. The owner was convicted at Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts on 31 July 2026, before being sentenced in September.
The confirmed orders are 240 hours of community service and compensation of about HK$45,000 to victims. The reports did not provide the owner’s name, the number of affected customers or details of how the compensation was divided.
