Railway technician jailed for two weeks for indecently assaulting girl on bus

A 32-year-old railway technician has been jailed for two weeks and fined HK$2,000 after pleading guilty to indecently assaulting a girl on a bus.

The offence took place on the upper deck of a 49X bus on Tai Ho Road in Tsuen Wan on 29 January 2026. He was sentenced at West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts on 24 September.

The magistrate noted that the victim was young, while also considering the defendant’s family support and the nature of the contact. He said he was imposing a light sentence as a warning.

The defence said he was a first offender, that his guilty plea was a major mitigating factor, and that two reports found he had a good family background and was willing to receive professional treatment. The magistrate urged him to continue receiving treatment.
