A widely shared video showing a student crying with chalk marks on her school uniform records an incident from a 2024/25 after-school tutorial, rather than a newly reported episode, Sacred Heart Canossian College says.
Online accounts described it as bullying, but the original conduct remains disputed. The person who posted or recirculated the footage denied that chalk had been forced into the student’s mouth and described the incident as horseplay among classmates, according to a social-media response reported by HK01.
The school says it immediately investigated the original incident and completed its formal response, instructing and disciplining the students involved under school rules. Affected students received emotional support and counselling, with parents kept informed, and nobody was physically injured, the school says.
It also replaced the service provider for the relevant after-school course in the 2025/26 school year. The school is now conducting a separate investigation into the recent online circulation of the footage and related comments, and says it will act under school rules if violations are confirmed.
The Education Bureau said it had contacted the school and was told the matter had been handled through its school-based counselling and guidance system. It reminded the school to strengthen its counselling and guidance work.
