A KMB B11 double-decker bus struck a ceiling-mounted traffic sign at New Huanggang Port at about 3 p.m. on October 31, after entering the ground-floor cross-boundary bus waiting area. The bus was suspected of taking the wrong route. No one was injured.

It was the second similar collision since the port opened on October 12. On October 18, a KMB B10 bus also entered the same waiting area and hit a ceiling-mounted sign. No one was injured in that incident either.

The Transport Department said it was concerned and had asked franchised bus operators to strengthen driver and route training, with the aim of keeping journeys to and from the port’s public transport interchange safe and smooth.
