A sports car allegedly crossed double white lines and collided head-on with an Audi on Route Twisk shortly before 11pm on 25 September, then caught fire near Ho Koon Nature Education Cum Astronomical Centre. Both vehicles suffered severe front-end damage.
Footage circulating online showed the sports car travelling downhill towards Tsuen Wan when it allegedly lost control on a bend and entered the opposite lane. The Audi was travelling uphill towards Kam Tin.
The 54-year-old Audi driver suffered a back injury and was taken by ambulance to Yan Chai Hospital while conscious. The 20-year-old sports-car driver got out in time and was not injured.
Firefighters attended the scene, where debris was scattered across the road. Hong Kong police were investigating the circumstances and cause of the crash.
