The High Court ordered 鴻毅建築師有限公司, the maintenance-project consultant for a Tai Po estate, to be wound up on 16 September 2026. The company sent no representative to the hearing and was ordered to pay the legal costs.
Creditor 唐耀國 filed the winding-up petition on 29 June 2026, according to Star Headline. Hearing officer Maurice Lam made the order at the September hearing.
The winding-up order is separate from the criminal case linked to the estate’s fire. Star Headline reported that the company had earlier been charged with five counts of manslaughter, three counts of conspiracy to defraud and four counts of tax evasion.
Star Headline reported that the fire on 26 November 2025 killed 168 people and injured 79.
