A 72-year-old woman was seriously injured and rendered unconscious after being struck while crossing near the On Pong Road junction in Tai Po on 18 September.
The collision happened at about 3pm. The vehicle, described as a light goods vehicle or van, was travelling south on On Tai Road before turning left at the On Pong Road junction. The collision occurred outside On Pong Road 10.
Police said the woman suffered a bleeding head injury. Ambulance personnel took her to a Sha Tin hospital for emergency treatment.
Police arrested the 68-year-old driver on suspicion of dangerous driving causing serious injury. He was held for investigation, while the vehicle was towed away for examination.
