A technician in his 50s was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital after becoming dizzy and falling in a pump room at a public-housing estate in Hung Hom.
The incident was reported at 11.27am on 18 September in the basement pump room of a block on Ma Tau Wai Road. The man reported inhaling an unidentified gas with a suspected biogas odour before feeling unwell. He then lost his balance or slipped and injured his neck, while remaining conscious when responders arrived.
Fire and ambulance crews attended. Fire Services initially found no biogas leak at the site, according to Ming Pao.
Police provisionally classified the case as an industrial accident and continued their follow-up investigation.
