Police arrested three local men aged between 82 and 85 during an afternoon operation against suspected illegal street gambling around Kwai Fong Estate on 22 September.
Each man was charged with one count of gambling at a place other than a casino or on a street. Officers also seized suspected gambling equipment and a small amount of cash during the operation, police said.
Police reminded the public that, on conviction, illegal gambling on a street can carry a maximum fine of HK$50,000 and up to nine months' imprisonment. Operating, managing or controlling illegal street gambling carries a maximum fine of HK$50,000 and up to two years' imprisonment.
The men are due to appear before a magistrates' court in West Kowloon on 15 October.
