Funeral arrangements have been announced for former Hong Kong chief executive Tung Chee-hwa, who died on 8 September aged 89. A wake is scheduled for the afternoon of 19 September, followed by a public memorial and funeral ceremony on the morning of 20 September.
The wake will be held at 香港殯儀館 on 19 September. i-CABLE News, reporting the funeral committee’s announcement, said it will run from 3pm to 10pm. The public memorial is scheduled to begin at 9am the next day, with the funeral ceremony taking place that morning.
The committee is chaired by 石泰峰, a Central Politburo member, head of the Central Organisation Department and vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Its deputy chairs are 梁振英, 王東峰, 夏寶龍 and Hong Kong chief executive 李家超.
