Two men were arrested in Kwun Tong during a police traffic operation that used drones to monitor road conditions and undercover vehicles to investigate suspected offences. The operation ran from 17 into 18 September around Kwun Tong Bypass.
Traffic Kowloon East Region officers said the operation targeted dangerous driving and other serious traffic offences, with the aim of reducing serious traffic accidents. Drones were used to survey the road from above before undercover vehicles were sent to gather evidence and take enforcement action against target vehicles.
On 17 September, officers stopped two private cars in Kwun Tong. A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified and driving without third-party insurance. Police said he claimed not to be carrying his driving licence but produced another person’s passport, leading to a further suspicion of misleading police officers.
A 35-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified and driving without third-party insurance. Police said he produced an expired driving licence during the stop and was additionally arrested on suspicion of using a false document.
Both men were being detained for investigation.
