Two workers were left stranded on the outside of Jardine House in Central on October 26 after their suspended work platform dropped. They were at about the 30th and 40th floors.

The platform came close to the pavement. Both workers were wearing safety harnesses as firefighters prepared a rope rescue, bringing the worker at the lower level to the ground first and taking the other to the rooftop. Both were rescued within about two hours.

HK01 reported that both workers were conscious, had hand or finger injuries and were taken by ambulance to Queen Mary Hospital.

Hongkong Land said it had begun an investigation into the incident. i-CABLE reported that the Labour Department was also investigating.
