A 20-year-old university student, 黃晉灝, has been given an 18-month probation order after pleading guilty to indecently assaulting a 15-year-old girl in a public-library study room in Tuen Mun.
The incident happened at about 4.45pm on 22 March 2026. The girl was studying alone when the student moved from his original seat to the one beside her. He lay face-down on the table as if asleep, moved closer and touched her right breast for about three seconds. She scolded him and he fled.
The girl later discussed the incident with a social worker before deciding to report it. The student was intercepted at the airport on 17 August while preparing to leave Hong Kong for a holiday.
In a video-recorded cautioned interview, he said he had moved beside the girl after seeing her and was driven by sexual impulses. He then lay on the table and touched her.
At the Tuen Mun magistrates’ court on 22 September, Acting Chief Magistrate 鄧少雄 imposed the probation order. The court considered a probation report recommending probation together with psychological or psychiatric treatment. The defence said the probation officer considered the student deserving of another opportunity, and that he understood the problem and was willing to receive counselling.
