The Urban Renewal Authority returned to an operating surplus of HK$338 million in the 2025/26 financial year, it said at its 25th anniversary celebration on 14 August 2026.
URA chairman Chow Chung-kong said the authority had faced external conditions and volatility in the property market, and had responded with flexible strategies while making better use of its resources.
The authority said one of its future priorities was to prepare an enhanced version of its Tendering Easy service, aimed at strengthening support for property owners. The service remains in preparation.
URA is discussing the proposed service’s specific measures and implementation arrangements with the Government. Details and a launch timetable have not been announced.
The silver-jubilee celebration, themed “25 years united, building together”, was officiated by Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu and Mr Chow. About 800 guests and staff attended. The information released did not include the loss recorded in 2024/25 or a breakdown of the latest surplus.
