A 44-year-old woman has been arrested after footage appeared to show her pushing a boy towards a roadside railing near Burrows Street on Wan Chai Road, with the boy crying out.
The incident was reported to have happened at about 9pm on 24 September, after the woman and the boy got out of a private car. The boy followed her, and the footage showed her taking him away after the encounter at the roadside.
Police said officers arrested the local woman in the Western District on the afternoon of 25 September on suspicion of ill-treating or neglecting a child or young person in her care. She was released on bail pending investigation, and the case was handed to the Wan Chai district crime division.
HK01 reported that the woman was the boy’s mother. The reader who supplied the footage said it did not record the pair’s conversation. She must report to police in late October.
